Fragnova Unveils New Decentralized Roadmap for Creator-First Game Development

In the latest step in its journey to empower game creators and democratize game development using decentralized technology, the Fragnova Foundation released its development roadmap through the end of 2023 and the planned full launch of the Fragnova Marketplace.

Founded in 2021, the Fragnova Foundation is a Singapore-based nonprofit that aims to bring a more decentralized, creator-centric approach to game development.

As outlined in its recently released roadmap, the Foundation’s ambition is for gaming revenue to be distributed more equitably to those who work in it, which it hopes to achieve through the creation of a supported decentralized gaming ecosystem. by blockchain technology.

The inclusion of the blockchain element, which is becoming an increasingly common feature among many newer gaming systems, means that game developers and gamers will be able to sell game assets, such as 3D models or fully functional games, with the use of their creations automatically. registered on the Foundation’s own blockchain to assert ownership, due royalties and licensing rights.

The marketplace is made up of the “Gamer Store”, which is aimed at gamers and consists of game items or playable experiences, and the “Creator Store”, a marketplace for developers filled with assets such as 3D models, scripts and audio.

Every item uploaded to Fragnova can be “detached” from the Fragnova chain and migrated to many other chains, like Ethereum for example, which will allow creators to sell and trade items on any possible platform, and the data related to each element is permanently stored. on the Fragnova chain.

Another key part of the ecosystem planned by the company is “Claymore”, a game engine also built using decentralized technologies. Compared to incumbents like EPIC or Unity, Claymore is unique because it ties into the Fragnova player store, allowing developers to launch their creations to market.

The company is developing several games with the Fragnova Network as proof-of-concept, including Ambal Duels, an RPG-inspired digital card game, and Rythym Run, a 2D side-scrolling multiplayer shooting and racing game where players attack using rhythm. ; with alphas scheduled for both games in Q2 2023 and Q3 2022 respectively.

The release of the roadmap comes after the company secured $3 million in its second round of its $FRAG token presale, increasing the amount invested in Fragnova to date to $5.6 million from companies such as Animoca Brands, Lemniscap and Off Capital.

“I hope the roadmap will serve as a statement of intent for Fragnova’s mission. We create momentum, and when these different elements come together, we want to disrupt the long-standing status quo in the gaming industry, develop a create-to-win economy, and empower developers who too often have a raw for their work”, comments John Petrantonipresident and founder of Fragnova.

“NFTs and crypto have given blockchain technology a bad name in recent years, but since the bubble burst, I think we’re now getting to a stage where people will be able to see the real value it will bring to industry.”
